We are a financial planning/investment broker in Edmonton but there are offices all over Canada, and we need new people to help us spread the knowledge of how money works! 91% of Canadians are going to retire under the poverty line (according to stats can) and there are so many people out there who need advice and guidance. 'So how is this a business and not a job' you ask? At our office, expanding and growing your team is a part of the business model. As you grow a team under you, you make a spread of their efforts as well as your own. It is like a remax agency. The idea is that over time, you become and agency owner and can do very well. So why is finance a good place to be? According to Forbes, finance is the second most lucrative industry in the world. As a company we take an 'education' approach to our clients. Teach them all we can and let them decide what they want, if they want anything. But as a compensation system, we make commissions on what we sell, and then each month we receive a small fee from the financial institutions for maintaining the client. You see, we have no products of our own. This allows us to choose what is best and most affordable for our clients from over 60 of the big banks! But pretty soon, those little fees every month add up to an extra few thousand from stuff you sold in the past, on top of your current sales. And eventually you have no need for new clients, you are just helping those under you to grow their businesses because that makes you money to. The top guys in our office have been there for 5yrs or more and are pulling in 3-500k. Now don't get me wrong, not everyone will make that, but in this industry it is quite easy to make 150k or more. Now wouldn't that be nice? Almost at the end, I promise! So how much does it cost to get started and what do you do next? This is not a franchise and you do get to start at the bottom like the rest of us. If you want an agency we will help you build it. This bisiness is structured so you can be independant and not have a'boss', but there are mentors at each office who can help you along the way. BUT you have to put some effort in. As the finance industry is heavily regulated by the Gov't. you need to have background checks done and you need to write and exam with the province to get your licence. It will cost you about $450 if you are in Alberta. Other then that, you just have to spend time at the office and learn, and go out into the world and find people to help! We can help with that to, but that is the jist of things.
